Magnificent Mauritius.
Turquoise water is my ultimate weakness—and inspiration.
There’s something about that glassy blue-green shimmer that instantly calms the chaos. Our honeymoon in Mauritius? Let’s just say the ocean color was chef’s kiss. Unreal. 12/10. So good I turned it into a textured canvas painting—with acrylics, modeling paste, and a lot of love for turquoise.
Now… do I love the sea? Yes. Do I love being in the sea? Eh…
I made Wille carry me over some seaweed like some aquatic bridal ritual because I was scared of the possible creatures within. During the trip, he also went scuba diving, all happy and salt-slicked, while I tagged along on the boat via a snorkel tour pass… and never got in. Just me, the ocean breeze, and a bag of cookies. Zero regrets.
This painting is part memory, part fantasy, part snack-fueled ocean worship.
What’s the most beautiful water you’ve ever seen?
