Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and mother figures out there—especially mine.
Big hugs too if today feels heavy for any reason.
This acrylic painting (read: Mother’s Day card) of lavender fields in the French countryside is a bit of a switch-up for me. I usually find myself painting the Italian hills (hello, Tuscany) because that’s what my mom loves. But lately, she’s been dreaming of road-tripping through France, so I figured that maybe I could try something new.
Fun fact: my stepdad is mildly skeptical about this France plan—not because of the driving, but because he’s “not sure if there’s good food there.” You know, in France. Famous for cheese, pastries, and basically inventing sauce.
Here’s to moms, dreams, road trips, and maybe even convincing the skeptics.

Thank you Sarah, I love this Mother’s Day card… I’m still working hard on trying to convince your stepdad to come with me to the French countryside. Maybe it will work if I promise him that the following year we’ll visit his favourite… the Italian countryside 😊
