Reflections about the Netherlands.

Reflections about the Netherlands.

The Netherlands has me in a chokehold (and honestly, I’m fine with it). Outside of Sweden and Estonia (Finnish people, you get it), it’s probably the country I’ve returned to the most.

I also studied abroad in Utrecht for a semester back in 2015 and had the best time. Biking, falling off bikes, eating my bodyweight in fries and mayo, and learning just how international, open, and friendly the Netherlands really is.

Also: the cheese is top-tier, and don’t even get me started on the fried snacks. Anything and everything crispy and mysterious from a wall. Love it.

This poster is my tribute to that rhythm, drawn from canal-lined streets and the everyday charm that first pulled me in and keeps calling me back.

It’s also my little love letter to a style I adored as a kid: cartoony, playful, full of hidden moments. Think Richard Scarry, Where’s Wally, and Mauri Kunnas energy. I could stare at the little details forever, and now I get to draw them.

🧡 Anyone else fallen a little bit in love with the Netherlands?
